Christmas, the Season of Giving( Smiles through your donations)

To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world Please do not look away.. We can make a difference day by day one by one JOY FOR HUMANITY UGANDA In December 2004, we had our first primary seven students sitting their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) which marked their end in Pre-primary and Primary school which takes 9 to 10 years in Uganda. Our school maintains students in primary level and once they finish this level they have to join new schools for their secondary education. We had 20 students sitting these exams and in January 2005 the results were released by the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) and out of the 20, 13 students had passed in First grade and 7 had got super second grades. This meant that all these children qualified to go to very good secondary schools to further their education. Being that these good secondary schools are very expensive in all aspects, these children ended up going to low secondary schools due to the limited resources that their parents or relatives can afford. Director and Founder of Joy For Humanity Uganda Joseph Lukwago The Certificate handover ceremony day was celebrated to congratulate these children because they were the first students to sit for these exams since the school started in 1998 and they also produced the best results in the whole community. This memorable day was presided over by the Member of Parliament then Hon. Mulindwa Birimumaso. On this same day the Old Boys and Old Girls (obs and ogs) Association for Kyazanga Modern Primary School was formed. Joseph Lukwago was given the responsibility to mentor these children and all the other children who will be finishing thier primary education from the school. This responsibility meant that he would be mentoring these children in aspects of Education, Behavior etc such that when they are released back into the community as health, educated and well-adjusted adults they will surely play their part in re-building their community and country into a positive and prosperous community and nation in general. For a long time, there existed a community development association in Josephs mind and having obtained this responsibility, this was the right time to put it into real practice such that these children get involved at an early age and maintained together such that they transform their community. With all these aspects JOY FOR HUMANITY emerged and its vision is to see Joy previailing over the community people who have been less privileged and deprived for along time. Joy For Humanity main objectives among others include: To ensure that more than 50 per cent of children/ youth, gender balanced, are enrolled in or have access to appropriate primary, secondary education or equivalent educational or vocational training programmes by increasing participation and access rates on an annual basis. To undertake initiatives in our community aimed at reducing current levels of youth unemployment, particularly where they are disproportionately high in comparison to the overall unemployment rate. We should, in consultation with the youth establish a process to promote dialogue between the youth community and Government at all levels and to establish mechanisms that permit youth access to information and provide them with the opportunity to present their perspectives on government decisions. We should combat human rights abuses against young people, particularly young women and girls, and should consider providing all youth with legal protection, skills, opportunities and the support necessary for them to fulfill their personal, economic and social aspirations and potentials. To do all things possible to see that Local Leaders, National and International bodies support the promotion and creation of mechanisms to involve youth representation in all their processes in order to influence the youth processes. Thank you for the very meaningful video. It calls for attention, for love, for action and for serious consideration to those who are less fortunate. How could we be happy when the world is suffering! How could we feel fulfilled when the world is starving! Not only, from malnutrition but also, from love from life itself! Those who have the means to make the changes, yet do not do it, they have nothing. So, please do not claim that you are the powerful nations when you have not proved it to be.

Lovely video. So little can do so much.

I like the smiling faces of the children. You can feel the joy they have.
