Is it okay to print postage lable on regular white printer paper?

Or is it have to be one of those mailing lables that you buy at the office supplies store??
because i only need to ship an item so i dont want to buy the mailing labels

    I always use a regular sheet of paper. I just tape it onto the package with some clear packaging tape (usually cover the entire label). Never had a problem.
